SAB offers a range of products for drainage, including the GRAB grass saver. This is a great option for keeping your lawn dense and firm, even when cars drive over it. The GRAB can be used in various places like car parks, walkways, driveways, sports facilities, turf gardens, and pedestrian paths.
To ensure the proper functioning of the product, it is important to follow a few straightforward installation steps.
Working
The grass saver must be put down on a area adequately levelled.
The characteristics of the paving are:
• the underground;
• the allurement layer;
• the GRAB;
• the sowing of the grassy carpet;
• the maintenance.
The underground
The best underground depends on many aspects. Following we resume the suggested underground based on the weight of the utilisation of GRAB:
Underground for car areas
It is necessary to prepare an underground of 30 cm realized with a gravel compound which must be perfectly pressed. On it spread the carpet of the weight of 400 gr/mq. Tnt is very important because divides the underground from the allurement layer, in order to avoid that water could transport the finest parts towards the bottom weakening the street support.
Underground for pedestrian areas
Similar to the car areas with an underground of 15 cm
The allurement layer
The layer has to be with an alluvial or crushing mix with geomechanic resistance, it is opportune to use a maximum size of 5-7 mm for the compound, or 3-6 mm for crushing mixture. Even the allurement layer must be compact and levelled.
Put down of the GRAB
Once prepared the layer it is time to put down the grass saver.
The GRAB is equipped with male/female hooks which connect them together. Then it is necessary to cover with vegetal soil. Be careful to contain the grilled one with cordoli like a normal self-locking pavement, leaving 5 cm of space between the last row of product and the cordolo, so to fill in further movements. During the summer season, fill in the alveoli immediately after having put down the grass grill.
The Grab is easy to cut with a scissor if you have to insert valve-box, pipes, etc.
Seed of the grassy carpe
For the best growth of the grass, the alveoli must be filled in with a mixture of 40% of sandle, 30% of peat and 30% of soil. Before to seed it is advisable to irrigate the floor; then to fertilize and irrigate it until the grassy carpet grows.
Maintenance
All the floor paved with the GRAB, need regular irrigations, mowing of grass and fertilization.
