SABfuse is SAB’s range of electrofusion fittings up to diameter 1000mm.
Electrofusion fittings are polyethylene (PE) fittings that have an electrical resistance inside. When the electricity is applied through a special welding machine, the resistance generates the heat necessary to melt the inner polyethylene layer of the fitting and the outer layer of the pipe, allowing them to be welded. Electrofusion is a practical, quick and safe system because the energy is transmitted directly to the limited contact surfaces of the fitting with the pipe. Electrofusion is the most common system for the connection of polyethylene pipes for gas or potable water up to a nominal pressure of 16 bar s, but can be used in other sectors such as irrigation or cable protection.
